AT&T’s 5G+

5G+ is AT&T’s term for the network’s millimeter wave 5G service. Millimeter wave 5G can be extremely fast, but it is not a good technology for covering large areas. As a result, AT&T’s 5G+ coverage profile is extremely limited.

5G+ is extremely fast. Subscribers with a good signal may experience speeds over 1 gigabit per second. In many cases, 5G+ speeds will be 10x faster than speeds on 4G LTE networks.

As of June 2020, 5G+ is available in parts of at least 35 cities:1

  • Atlanta, GA
  • Austin, TX
  • Baltimore, MD
  • Charlotte, NC
  • Cleveland, OH
  • Dallas, TX
  • Detroit, MI
  • Houston, TX
  • Indianapolis, IN
  • Jacksonville, FL
  • King of Prussia, PA
  • Las Vegas, NV
  • Los Angeles, CA
  • Louisville, KY
  • Menlo Park, CA
  • Miami Gardens, FL
  • Miami, FL
  • Nashville, TN
  • New Orleans, LA
  • New York City, NY
  • Oakland, CA
  • Ocean City, MD
  • Oklahoma City, OK
  • Orlando, FL
  • Philadelphia, PA
  • Phoenix, AZ
  • Raleigh, NC
  • Redwood City, CA
  • San Antonio, TX
  • San Bruno, CA
  • San Diego, CA,
  • San Francisco, CA
  • San Jose, CA
  • Waco, TX
  • West Hollywood, CA

I expect AT&T will soon rollout 5G+ in many more places.
