After Sprint was folded into T-Mobile, Dish set out to build a new nationwide network. The Dish cellular network was 5G only, and the company successfully covered most of the US population (but a minority of the US by land area).
Dish's stint as a nationwide network operator was short-lived. The company is in the process of decommissioning its network following AT&T's purchase of much Dish's cellular spectrum holdings.
Many subscribers with brands owned by Dish have some access to either AT&T and/or T-Mobile's networks.
