Cell Coverage in the United States

Usage

The coverage map shows native (non-roaming) coverage from US networks.

  • Zoom in for the most detailed coverage data available
  • Click hexagons for details about a specific area
  • Use the search bar to find specific places

From the settings menu (top right button):

  • Explore additional networks (e.g., Dish or US Cellular)
  • Hide UI elements (helpful on mobile!)
  • Toggle colorblind-friendly visuals

Data Sources

Cell coverage data comes primarily from the FCC's Broadband Data Collection Program. The last round of data incorporated in the map was released in May 2025 and represents networks' as of December 2024.

New editions of the FCC data are released roughly every 6 months. The FCC data is supplemented and adjusted with crowdsourced, on-the-ground data from DIMO and Roam.

Limitations

  • The map shows native, non-roaming coverage. Many plans include substantial roaming coverage.
  • Predicted outdoor, stationary signal strength is shown in the map. Signals may be weaker indoors.
  • Networks are inconsistent in how they report coverage over bodies of water.
