There are several excellent phone plans on the market for people who need two lines of service. While the major carriers’ premium options tend to be expensive for only two lines, these options also deliver excellent performance.
For those who want two lines, but don’t need top-tier performance, there are carriers that offer great deals on two-line plans.
Verizon’s Play More Unlimited
Verizon’s Play More Unlimited and Do More Unlimited plans are excellent options for those who want two lines and are willing to pay a premium for great performance. The plans offer unlimited minutes, texts, and data. The plans also come with a healthy allotment of premium data (for better service when the network is congested) and mobile hotspot data.
With Verizon’s industry-leading network, subscribers can look forward to excellent coverage. The Play More Unlimited plan and the Do More Unlimited plan have the same price. For most people, I recommend the Play More Unlimited plan. It comes with free access to Disney+, ESPN+, and Hulu. However, people who use tons of mobile hotspot data or use a connected device (e.g., an LTE smartwatch or a tablet) may be better off with the Do More Unlimited plan.
Example plan: Two lines on the Play More Unlimited plan for $140 per month plus taxes and fees (includes a discount for paperless billing and automatic payments)
AT&T’s Unlimited Extra plan
If you don’t need the extensive coverage Verizon offers, AT&T offers solid service at a slightly lower price point. AT&T’s Unlimited Extra plan comes with unlimited minutes, texts, and data. Like Verizon’s Play More plan, the AT&T Unlimited Extra plan also includes sizable allotments of high-priority data and mobile hotspot data. Two lines on the Unlimited Extra plan would come in about $10 cheaper than two lines on Verizon’s Play More Unlimited plan.
Example plan: Two lines on AT&T’s Unlimited Extra plan for $130 per month plus taxes and fees (includes a discount for paperless billing and automatic payments)
While the high-end options for two lines tend to be expensive, there are some awesome options on the market for people who want more budget-friendly plans for two lines.
Mint Mobile offers awesome deals on service running over T-Mobile’s network. All plans include unlimited minutes and texts. Data is available in 3GB, 8GB, 12GB, or 35GB allotments for each line.
Example plan: Two lines on Mint Mobile’s 8GB plan for as low as $40 per month ($20 per line)
T-Mobile’s Connect plans are an excellent option for two-line subscribers that don’t use much data. The Connect plans include unlimited minutes and texts. Subscribers can opt for a 2GB plan that costs $15 per line each month or a 5GB option that costs $25 per line each month. Unlike many other budget-friendly options, T-Mobile’s Connect plan comes with high-priority data, leading to a better experience during periods when T-Mobile’s network is congested.
Example plan: Two lines on T-Mobile’s 2GB Connect plan for $30 per month ($15 per line)
